Since 1998, the Mondial des Vins Blancs Strasbourg has established itself as the only competition in the world entirely dedicated to the diversity of white wines, sponsored by the OIV (International Organisation of Vine and Wine), the UOIE (International Union of Oenologists) and a member of VINOFED (World Federation of Major International Wine and Spirits Competitions), it brings together more than 20 participating producing countries and 60 international expert judges each year.
History
1998 - Creation of the 1st international competition “Riesling du monde”
2011 - First patronage of the OIV then renewed with each edition
2014 - Admission of the Mondial among VINOFED member competitions
2020 - 12 gathered categories under "Le Mondial des Vins Blancs Strasbourg"
2022 - Opening of the competition to orange wines
2024 - Launch of the “Best sparkling wine”
2025 - The arrival of dealcoholised wines
2026 - Launch of the European Wine Contest Red & Rosé

AWARDS AND MEDALS
- The Grand Jury Prize for the best wine in the competition
- Two VINOFED prizes for the best still dry wine and the best sparkling wine
- A Dry Wine trophy in each of the 13 categories (from 0 to 4g of residual sugar/litre)
GRAND GOLD > 93 points, GOLD > 89 points, SILVER > 85 points
A maximum of 30% of medals are awarded according to OIV standards.
