Great job of the Sommeliers – students

Arthur, Audrey and their 7 collegues

A look back at the impeccable service during the 26th edition of the competition in conjunction with the Alexandre Dumas hotel school in Illkirch – Graffenstaden.

The organizers, since the first editions of our competition, have made a point of working in collaboration with the Lycée Polyvalent Hôtelier Alexandre Dumas in Illkirch Graffenstaden. Giving sommelier learners the opportunity to officiate in a prestigious, extremely rigorous and international context is also one of the missions of the Mondial des Vins Blancs Strasbourg: to be a responsible and inclusive player in the wine industry, a facilitator of the transition to know.
This perfectly integrates the spirit of knowledge transmission of the égast trade fair organized concurrently with the competition: over the 4 days of the professional gastronomy and CHR trade fair, one morning was dedicated to schools.

Responsibility for the wine list and advice on pairings, the quality of service in close connection with the arts of the table falls to the sommelier. The arts of the table are the arts associated with meals taken together, the presentation and serving of dishes, conversation and civility, the decoration of furniture, utensils and places intended for gastronomic or oenological pleasures.
All the students who had the opportunity to officiate during our competition have unforgettable memories. Both on a professional and human level, the experience is enriching and reassures them in their career choice. They are in contact with the international juries and during the masterclasses they were also invited to taste still and crémant wines under the eye of their teachers Amandine Dumont, Laetita Knecht and Sandrine Zehnder.
Let us also remember that a whole generation of sommeliers from Alsace was trained by Antoine Woerlé MOF Master of Service and Tableware who supervised his students at the Mondial for more than two decades.

Finally, among the judges of the Mondial, if there is one inspiring it is Serge DUBS, Best Sommelier of the World 1989 who arouses the admiration of this next generation eager to learn and evolve within the restaurant industry in France and internationally.
